Talk Introduction
Tonight we are going to touching on the world of fashion, music and film...
Some of the biggest things that effect our lives outside of our friends /
family
I thought we could spend a few moments to think about that
The middle bit
So...
Who would like to tell us about the kind of music they like...?
Why do you like it?
Do you ever think about the words? Do you relate to any of them?
Do you think some bands go too far / say thing they shouldn't?
Do you think famous people are any happier than people like us?
Do you wish you were famous?
If you could choose, would you rather be a model, musician or movie star?
So what's you favourite film?
If you could be a famous actor who would it be?
The Bible bit
The world of fashion, music and film is big...
If we're honest, a lot of us would like to be part of it...
It has the power to make us happy / sad
The Bible asks us to think about what we want out of life...is it...
Fame
To look good
To have loads of friends
To be God's friend
Isaiah 40:6-8 P655 "...people are like the grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the
field. The grass dies and the flowers fall when the breath of the Lord blows on
them. Surely the people are like grass. The grass dies and the flowers fall, but
the word of our God will live for ever."
Does anybody know what that means?
Fame and all of that...like a flower...it will grow, die, will be no more.
But God is always there...
Conclusion
So if it's true that fame and fortune don't last, what do you think we should
look for in life?
